About me, Greg Lee
A graduate of UCLA film school, my career began as a runner/PA at New Wave, driving a pickup truck with no A/C and delivering 3/4" tapes to the studios. I worked my way out of the truck to become Lead AE, assisting on trailers from Martin Scorsese's Kundun to Bruce Willis' Armageddon. I became a freelance editor at agencies like Open Road, Trailer Park and Cimarron, cutting on campaigns such as X-Men 2, The Longest Yard, and most importantly, Crossroads, starring Britney Spears.
Joining the staff at ABC/Disney, I became a lead editor on LOST and Grey's Anatomy. I've edited for every platform, from broadcast, to theatrical, to large-form installations such as the Times Square SuperSign and the Javits Center Screen for Bob Iger's 2024 Upfronts speech. My work has won ProMax awards, including Gold for a music video with the Muppets and Adele, fulfilling a fever dream I never knew I'd had. As Senior Editor at ABC, I led a department of 12 editors, overseeing the transition from AVID to Adobe Premiere, and teaching classes to the department on creative/graphic techniques.
I've also had an occasional career as a feature screenwriter, including selling spec scripts to Sony Pictures, Constantin Film and Walt Disney Animation, for movies that never got made. I was paid to write a star-vehicle for Rob Schneider. It was named Blind-Sided, a comedy about a blind painter. Oddly, that was also never made.
Lastly, I live in Los Angeles with a wife, two teenage daughters and a ton of cats.
Software Skills...
For editing, AVID, Adobe Premiere and FCP and DaVinci Resolve. After Effects and Motion for motion graphics and VFX, and Blender, Daz3D and Unreal Engine for 3D modeling and environments. For screenwriting, I use Final Draft, which is still a bootleg copy from the early 2000's.
